Foundations are Important. If the foundation is faulty, then whatever is built on it will not last. Much has changed since Riddles Bend Baptist was founded in 1919, in our world, and in the way we "do" church, but there are some foundational things that must never change. Here are "foundational" things that matter to us.
God matters. We are a church so you would expect us to say this. But we are striving to make it true in all that we do. We want the worship of God to be at the center of all we believe and all we practice.
People matter. They matter to God so much that He sent Jesus to pay the price for sin on the cross. If people matter to God, we want them to be a first priority to us. Since people matter, you will often find Riddles Bend serving the community in various ways to show the love of God to people and to reach "one more."
The Bible matters. Creation reveals there is a God, but the Bible is God's Revelation of Himself. It tells us what He is like, why He made the World, and us. It tells us about ourselves, why we sin, and why we need a Savior. And, it tells us about Jesus; Who He is and about the Good News of His death, burial, and ressurection to pay for our sin. Without the Bible we would know about the character, nature, or love of God.
